Fall River Flood Recovery

FlyWater, inc. worked directly with a design team (Otak) to develop a restoration strategy to re-establish form and function, and to mimic the pool-rife channel-type appropriate to Fall River for the Town of Estes Park. To meet resiliency goals through joint focus on risk reduction and stream health, the design goals were to protect property, stabilize bank slopes, generate fish habitat, and ensure existing and constructed floodplains function. Once design was completed, FlyWater constructed the project in two (2) phases. The first phase was located from Rocky Mountain National Park to the Historical Fall River Hydroplant and the second was located just downstream of the hydroplant.
